What to Wear to Tour Europe Cities During the Summer
It gets HOT in Europe in the summer. To stay cool and still look fresh while touring Europe’s top cities during the summer, here are some tips on what to wear.
First off, you’ll want a loose, cotton top (bonus if it has a built-in bra like the one above: less straps = less hot and restrictive layers) and comfortable linen shorts – try to find the wrinkle-free kind. You want clothes that allow your skin to breathe during the day.
Next, you’ll want a lightweight bag that can be worn across your body – this helps eliminate pick pocketing. In the bag, you’ll want to put in a breezy scarf as most churches in Europe require your shoulders to be covered to tour. A select few will require ladies’ knees to be covered as well. Double check your itinerary and if that’s the case for a church you’re visiting, switch out the shorts for linen pants or a breezy maxi skirt.
Wear comfortable sandals designed for long walks. I like Keen as they’re comfortable, sturdy, and come in stylish options. For accessories, less is more when walking around Europe. A bracelet might give you tan lines and necklaces can get annoying if they’re swinging around, so skip those and keep it simple with non-flashy stud earrings.
